Our Mission
The Alum Rock Village Action Committee (ARVAC) is a dedicated group of volunteers committed to making a positive and lasting impact in the Alum Rock Foothills area of East San José, California. We believe that community involvement and local action are key to driving meaningful change, and we strive to create a brighter, more connected future for our neighborhood.
ARVAC focuses on improving the community through beautification projects, neighborhood clean-ups, enhancing safety, and fostering open communication with City and County departments. By working together, we aim to strengthen our community’s well-being and ensure that the voices of residents are heard and acted upon.

ARVAC is hosting a community decorating event on December 7th at 10 a.m., bringing festive lights and holiday cheer to Alum Rock Village.
Join us for free coffee and hot chocolate while supplies last, and lend a hand as we brighten the neighborhood together.
This will also be our last day to collect coats for our ONE WARM COAT drive.

One Warm Coat 2025
ARVAC is collecting new and gently used coats for the One Warm Coat 2025 campaign. Donations accepted now through December 7, 2025.
How to Donate?
Drop-off location: Look for the Donation Box inside Starbucks on Alum Rock Ave.
Please bring coats that are clean and in good condition — all sizes welcome (infants → adults).
Why it Matters?
Cold weather is particularly harsh on individuals without adequate warm outerwear. Your donated coat provides immediate warmth and dignity to a neighbor in need. Every coat helps, and every donor strengthens our community.
